Default I love eBay!

eBay has to be the web-site of the century, or something. It's completely revolutionized selling/re-selling for the average joe. Someone who doesn't know anything about merchant accounts and so on. eBay policies are tough and difficult to contest, but I justify them with the fact that they're for our benefit. I've successfully sold about USD 1500 dollars worth of stuff.

I hope to eventually start a small eBay shop, selling prayer beeds .. or other little trinkets that I find .. since I travel A LOT!

Hey Carmel, it's good to hear about your success on eBay.

I found an out-of-print series of books for my wife on eBay, and was pleased with the opportunity to get them for her but I've not sold anything on eBay yet.

I have heard of other people using it as a sideline business.

Do you think that it would be a good place to sell digital items like music or stock photography to businesses rather than individuals ?

Default hmmm ..

eBay is really about value! .. people are looking for a bargain .. sellers, like me, are trying to get rid of those lousy birthday and christmas presents! .. as well as any other impulsive buys, which lead to any form of buyer's remorse! ..

as for stock photography and music .. I think those sort of things would be better handled/marketed by a business .. such as corbis, etc. ..

paintings, posters and stuff .. how do you put a value on them? .. the value is, naturally, the highest amount someone is willing to pay ..

you have to be careful, with eBay .. there are several different auctions .. there are classifieds (which run for 30 days, with "final value fee") .. there's this one particular method where you specify how much you want for something you're selling, and you let the buyers send in bids .. and, at he end of the day, it's upto you to select from the bids .. just don't click "accept any bid over X amount" .. I made that mistake .. because if someone bids over that amount, they automatically buy it .. it doesn't wait for your consideration of the offer ..

but all in all .. I feel safe with eBay .. some really great bargains .. I bought a spare charger for my MacBook Pro .. at the Apple shop it's like a 99 dollars or something .. I got mine (brand new, btw!) from some company in China .. for 30 dollars! .. I'm assuming it's the same manufacturers who manufacture these items for Apple .. or someone who has access to them ..

there are a lot of fakes out there, too .. so be sure to check a seller's reputation .. and if it's too good to be true, it probably is .. I saw an Hermes Birkin for like 1000 USD .. most certainly, a fake! ..

When I first started to sell goods online I did actually use Ebay often however I find that it has become a lot more difficult to sell your stuff through their site.

how come? .. what sort of problems have you been facing on eBay? .. their customer service is pretty good .. there's always a live agent you can talk to .. fees are a BIT up there .. but, in the long run, worth it ..

I have used ebay a lot to get rid of things. Some things it's hard to get rid of. You might think you have some good stuff and you don't! I have been successful, but it doesn't bring in a monthly income. I tried selling for a friend, but didn't really break even with it all.

I do well when I sell often, but if I have to take a break, then it seems to take forever to get back to selling again and doing well. I do enjoy getting rid of things and the extra money!

hello guys!...we have to understand that selling is not just putting stuff in a display rack...it requires skills and you have to build relationship with your customers especially if your stuff requires complex selling...that's why sometimes it doesn't work...

Ebay is really doing great for me. I abled to sell my scraps at home. It feels good to earn money from things that you no longer need at home such as old appliances, jewelries, clothes and etc.
