Default Bonuses

Generally people like to get more than what they already paid. Most internet marketers know this psychological fact. They utilize it by offering bonuses for people that buy the products they are offering. But I read somewhere that too many offered bonuses will only devalue the main products.

What do you think? Say, we are selling an ebook, how many ebooks or other products we should offer as bonuses to be considered enough and not too many?

I dunno - I'd say as many as it takes to make the offer a great offer ... because I'd say what you are offering as a "bonus" may not have such a big stand-alone value, regardless.

I don't know much about e-publishing business. But from the perspective of a customer, I usually make the decision of purchase based on the main product's value. However attractive the bonus, it won't affect me unless the main product deserves its price. If the main product and it bonus are both good, they will work as momentum for my purchase.

same thing for me! the main focus of the aimed purchase would be the main product and its details. the bonus would just be what it purports to be - a bonus!if the offerred bonus gets better that just merely being one, then that pose a big plus factor.... but just after satisfying the objected purchase first and foremost!

I think that you are absolutely right about the propositions of bonuses. And I constantly propose no more than couple of bonuses with the main product.

From a consumer perspective, particularly in relation to digital information products, I find that the value of bonuses can be somewhat questionable. Many times I have bought a product and found that the bonuses contain very old or irrelevant material, or are even thinly disguised vehicles to market other products. If however, you are offering a bonus or two that would actually add value to your main product, well then, everyone likes a freebie.

We are as consumers more savvy than ever and if the bonuses are just padding then it will show through, but if you're offering something of quality - which I'm sure that you are then some well selected extras could just be the icicng on the cake.
