Default Your Target Customers

I find it hard in marketing, especially when it comes to attracting my potential customers. What do you think is the most effective ways to find out your customers' whereabouts? I mean how can you find a way to know where your target usually hang around. They don't have a name tag to tell you they are people you are looking for.

Hey jennyB, your post reminds me of a friend who's using his Facebook account to get some leads. In his case, he's often surprised to see where his new "friends" are from - He has contacts in several countries. In his case he's marketing Reggae music.

I don't know if your area of geographical interest is that large, but I thought I'd mention that in case you use Facebook too.

Otherwise, I wonder if you could get a profile of your customer base using a database program and looking at the addresses of the people in it?

I have heard the same thing about Facebook. You might as well try that one. That is if you havent gotten into there as of yet.

I don't have a systematic way to classify my audience base, but I think Facebook is a good tool for letting your business known for a diverse audience. As far as I know, you can make a "page" on Facebook and use it as a promotional channel for your business.

I think you can build your list. Internet marketers suggest that it is one of the most effective way to market your products. When you capture your potential customers' details using a squeeze page, you can require some more details instead of just name and email address.

Jenny, what is your target market? Have you developed a potential customer profile? That is, have you thought about and written down who is most likely to use your product or service?
If you have, perhaps you could share with us your target market and then we would be better equipped to give you specific help.

I've head that MySpace has a younger demographic, so that may be of interest to anyone considering using a social site as a marketing tool

Come to think of it, the friend I mentioned above with the Reggae project uses MySpace more, rather than Facebook.
