Default Craigslist?

Does anyone here use Craigslist, either as a site to post items for sale or for a means of directing traffic to another site?

I know that you have to avoid appearing that you're simply advertising there. I think if you have a bit of a known presence in the discussion forums you may have a better shot at promoting another site.

I used to use Craiglist before to post ads for wfhhq. But I got a problem with the phone verification issue. I cannot verify my phone number. Are only phone numbers in USA eligible for getting verified?

I'm not sure about that.

I'm in Canada and Craigslist seems to have a huge presence here, but I've never used my phone number in any dealings I've had through the site.

Craiglist is certainly possible for merchants who are selling products at most affordable prices however for the costly ones I don't prefer using cragilist. Most of my friends use craiglist for selling their products and had achieved a significant amount of success in them.

I have seen some fairly pricey items in the musical instrument section. Some of the vintage electric guitars are listed in the thousands, but they're pretty few.

Also, there seems to be a considerable number of posters exposing other posters as scammers.

I'd consider buying from Craigslist locally, for sure.

I use Craigslist all the time for selling thing from around the house. Mostly for large things like furniture.

I haven't thought about using it to sell my craft items that I make, but I think I might be able to try that avenue. Thanks for the idea!

Like any other online venue, Craigslist has its pros and cons. The biggest "con" in my opinion is that customers are not "vetted" in any way (for that matter either are the sellers) and it is easy to get burnt.

I have, however, used Craigslist to pick up some freelance work, so I guess it boils down to exactly what you are looking for/expecting to get out of it.

Come to think of it, I have seen some interesting gigs listed involving a day or two, for those of us who'd be interested in that.

I've not checked any of them out though, and in the film crew and music areas I tend to browse through, the expectations of huge paydays wouldn't be very high, I'm afraid.
