It is believed that in most cases, price represents quality. Hence, it is not advisable to choose web hosting which charge too low for hosting our website. What do you think? How 'expensive' should a web hosting be to make it reliable?
Web hosting is a very competitive business - I know, I used to own this one. Regardless, I don't think anyone should be paying more than $8-10/month total, you can get everything you need for that, until you need a higher end, dedicated server.
I observe that many web hosting like bluehost, justhost, inmotion, go daddy and even host gator offer promotional price which is around $4.xx (up to slightly less than $5). And most them offer unlimited space, bandwidth and number of domain to host (except go daddy). So, it is sign that $5 is the standard price for a good web hosting?
Yep, that's a good price - of course, if you read the TOC carefully, you see they have plenty of "outs" to make you pay more, or shut you down if you exceed certain amounts of storage or bandwidth - even if you purchased "unlimited".
Wow, really? Thanks for reminding. I completely forget about the TOC. I should read it carefully. It is my nature not to read thoroughly the TOC and just check the 'I agree'. Yeah, I think it's quite naive to take 'unlimited' as unlimited LOL.
I've noticed a lot of companies tout realy cheap rates (sub $5.00/month) but when you read the fine print you have to sign up for several years to get that rate.
Yes, that is right. On most cases price resembles quality. However my experience suggests that even the low costs ones offer very good services like the costly ones vice versa. In the end people have to analyze about the web hosting company before going for it.

I think that the best strategy to find the decent hosting for the appropriate price is not to believe to the advertisements but to look for the reviews of hosting. I am using this strategy in my practise constantly.
