Uptime is an important factor to consider when we are looking for a web hosting service. The best way to drive visitors away is delivering them the message "the server is down for maintenance". I notice many web hosting sites offering guaranteed 99,9%, which is really great.
Do you think they are offering something they can manage? What did you experience?

As far as my experience is concerned most of the web hosting companies does offer a significant amount of uptime if the webhosting plans are not very cheap. However I am nit sure about sites which offer webhosting packages for a few dollars.

I notice that many web hosting sites like blue host, host gator, lunar page, host monster, just host are offering similar rate now, start from around $5 (mostly $4.95). They all offers 9,99% uptime.
