Post Is unlimited hosting a myth

I had heard many webhosting services which offers its uses unlimited bandwidth and space. However I am nit sure whether it is practically possible to offer its users unlimited bandwidth and space even if the websites of their clinets become hyper popular.

I think it's a part of their smart strategy of promotion. I believe they have make some research about how much the average space and bandwidth is used by most websites. Usually only small websites using shared web hosting. So, they know already that the websites they are hosting will not consume too much space in their server. That's why they feel confident to offer unlimited hosting. The big company or websites will tend to use dedicated servers. The gigantic websites like Google or Yahoo I think host their own websites.

Yep, they will offer it, but in small print in the TOS, they have "reasons" they can terminate you - they'll offer "unlimited", but then they'll say that your site is taxing the performance of the shared server, and remove you. Promise.

That is bad and unfair. Do they mention clearly how much space we occupy to get us considered taxing the performance of the shared server? Do you mean it is better to use web hosting that clearly set the amount of space and bandwidth we can use, like Go Daddy (economic plan: 10 GB space and 300 GB monthly bandwidth).

I'm absolutely sure that it's an old and beautiful fairy tale. Sorry that there are many such propositions in the Internet but in reality it is the marketing trick and nothing more.
